FAMILY ALKALOID

Alkaloids are naturally occurring chemical compounds containing nitrogen atoms, having pharmacological effects in animals and humans. For plants, they have a role of protection against pests and predators. For humans, they have many applications in medicine.

Due to their hudge diversity, many classification of alkaloid reference materials have been issued: by structure, by biosynthetic pathway, by plant, by pharmacological effects… For our alkaloid standards collection, we have selected a structural approach. Main families are : azine (pyrrolidine and rel.), benzylamine, indole, isoquinoline, purine, pyrrolizidine, quinoline, quinolizidine and tropane.
